M Sport Variants Of New BMW 530e And 530i Are Here

BMW Malaysia has introduced the new BMW 530e M Sport and BMW 530i M Sport variants, the latest additions to its portfolio of locally-assembled premium executive sedans. The premium automaker has made available 2 versions of its popular 5 Series (plug-in hybrid and petrol) to give Malaysians a choice based on their preferences and driving requirements. The 7th generation 5 Series is expected to drive the BMW Group’s momentum of success in the world of premium executive sedans, having won the “Car of the Year” award presented by ‘Auto, Motor und Sport’ Magazine and ‘What Car?’ Magazine in 2020.

New BMW 530e M Sport_BMW 530i M Sport“The Luxury of Choice arrives with the new BMW 5 Series variants, both of which are remarkable in driving dynamics and stylishly sleek in appearance. The latest variants of the iconic BMW 5 Series offer a dynamic driving experience that is beheld in its class, and we are honoured to be able to lead this change towards electromobility in Malaysia to much greater heights for both our loyal customers and enthusiasts of the brand,” said Hans de Visser, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia.

The new BMW 530e M Sport and BMW 530i M Sport now come complete with the latest-generation driver assistance systems and a redesigned appearance, with comprehensive re-engineering. The exterior is dressed with the M Aerodynamics package, larger kidney grilles and slimmer headlights with a new daytime running light design.

BMW 530i M Sport_Laserlight_HeadlightThe BMW 530e M Sport comes with Adaptive LED headlights, in addition to the standard LED headlights, while the BMW 530i M Sport is equipped with the BMW Laserlight. Both include high-beam assistant with automatic switching on and off of the high-beam headlights depending on the traffic situation, controlled via sensor on the front side of the interior mirror. The 530e M Sport has the BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line frame around the glasshouse, while the 530i M Sport get the BMW Individual Exterior Line Aluminium Satinated frame. Meanwhile, the front and rear bumpers on both variants are also redesigned with larger air intakes, along with new LED taillight elements in the signature BMW L-shape.

BMW 530e M Sport_Tail Light_SpoilerFor the first time, the light source is integrated directly into the taillight’s outermost layer, maximising the 3D effect. Rounding out the rear are double-sided exhaust tailpipe finishers with a trapezoidal design and a distinctive diffuser insert. The cars sit on new 19″ M light alloy Y-Spoke 845 M Bi-Colour Jet Black wheels with blue M Sport brake calipers and M Sport brakes.

 

BMW 530e M Sport_Dashboard_Steering_Centre ConsoleInside, the BMW 530e M Sport and BMW 530i M Sport boast an interior design language that is elegant yet comfortable. The new variants feature the exclusive M leather steering wheel, along with stylish sport seats for the driver and front passenger. The new variants are also furnished with interior trim finishers in Aluminium Rhombicle, Dakota Leather upholstery and the BMW Individual anthracite headliner. Illumination within the car is provided by ambient lighting. The BMW 530i M Sport adds the electrical glass roof feature.

Further, the dashboard includes a lighter-coloured contrasting seam, which continues onto the door trims. The control buttons in the centre console are in High Gloss Black to enhance the interior design language of the new 5 Series.

BMW 530i M Sport_Steering_BMW Live Cockpit ProfessionalThe new variants are also equipped with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, running the latest BMW Operating System 7. This infotainment concept is distinguished by its restructured display set-up, consisting of a user-configurable 12.3″ instrument cluster and an equally large touchscreen Control Display. The BMW Live Cockpit Professional comes with navigation, the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, 4G LTE connectivity, 2 USB ports and functions such as Remote Software Upgrade as well as over-the-air map updates for the navigation system.

With the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, the new BMW 530e M Sport and BMW 530i M Sport take interactions between driver and vehicle to the next level. Vehicle functions that can be accessed and controlled via the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant include phone calls, temperature adjustment, navigation, sunblind activation and automatically lowering of all windows.

For additional convenience, the new variants offer the Comfort Access system, as well as the automatic air-conditioning with 4-zone control and electric roller sunblinds for rear windows. Driving Assistance is provided to the new variants via the Lane Departure and Lane Change Warning, front collision alert with brake intervention, rear collision prevention and crossing-traffic warning. The Parking Assistant Plus features the Surround View camera for both variants. Owners of the new BMW 530i M Sport can also benefit from the Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function.

Exclusive to the BMW 530i M Sport are the BMW Gesture Control, Head-Up Display, BMW Display Key and Harman Kardon surround sound system. Meanwhile, the BMW 530e M Sport has a standard HiFi Loudspeaker system for entertainment.

Powering the new variants is an inline 4-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo 2.0L petrol engine, with the 530e M Sport featuring the latest generation of the BMW eDrive electric motor. The 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission also comes as standard for both variants.

BMW 530e M Sport_2.0 TwinPower Turbo EngineThe New BMW 530e M Sport offers a combined maximum output of 292 hp and 420 Nm of torque (with the electric motor producing 109 hp). This gives the electrified variant a century sprint time of 5.9 seconds. The car is also capable of a top speed of 235 km/h, and consumes only 2.3l/100km of fuel with a CO2 emission of 53g/km. Moreover, the electric motor is capable of an all-electric range of up to 67 kilometres (NEDC correlated) – making all-electric city driving and short journeys possible.

The electric motor can be fully-charged by a BMW i Wallbox in approximately 3 hours and 35 minutes, or under 6 hours with a conventional mains socket via a standard charging cable. The driving mode in the electrified variant can be personalised via the eDrive button in the centre console.

BMW 530e M Sport_Cockpit_Steering_Dashboard_Touchscreen Control DisplayThe standard AUTO eDRIVE setting enables all-electric driving up to a speed of 110 km/h. Switching to MAX eDRIVE mode enables all-electric speeds up to 140 km/h. The BMW Xtra Boost mode is also available in the New BMW 530e M Sport, giving the vehicle additional power of up 40 hp during acceleration.

Meanwhile, the BMW 530i M Sport has an output of 252 hp and 350 Nm, enabling the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. It has a top speed of 250 km/h and consumes 6.7l/100km of fuel, with CO2 emission at 154g/km.

BMW 530e M Sport_Front Wheel_Brake Caliper_Charging PortFurther enhancing the driving experience of the BMW 530e M Sport and 530i M Sport are the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) that is complemented by Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and the Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist. The new variants also feature Adaptive Suspension.

A unique safety feature for the BMW 530e M Sport is the specially-created sound emitted through a loudspeaker system. This alerts pedestrians and cyclists of the vehicle’s presence and is activated when the vehicle is travelling in full electric mode up to 30 km/h.

The new cars are available in Alpine White or Carbon Black, paired with either the Black or Cognac Leather Dakota upholstery; or in Phytonic Blue, Sophisto Grey or Bluestone paired with Black Leather Dakota upholstery.

Additionally, both 5 Series variants can be further customised with BMW M Performance Parts. This will equip the vehicle with kidney grilles in High Gloss Black, exterior mirror cap in Carbon Fibre, M Performance accentuation strip on both sides of the vehicle, M Performance side sills, as well as rear spoiler in Matte Black. The BMW M Performance Parts also comes with a Rear Bumper Set, consisting of the rear bumper trim in High Gloss Black and rear diffuser in Matte Black. The BMW M Performance Parts retails at RM17,410.29. However, you can enjoy special rates of up to 10% off from now until 31 December 2021.

Exclusively available for the new BMW 530i M Sport is the Shadow Line Package, which normally retails at RM5,437.12. There is a special flat rate of RM5,000 (excluding labour) from now until 31 December 2021. This package will equip the car with kidney grille, air duct trim and window frames in High Gloss Black.

BMW 530e M Sport – RM340,800 (with SST); RM334,353.95 (without SST)

BMW 530i M Sport – RM395,800 (with SST); RM384,941.86 (without SST)
