New Isuzu D-Max Launched; X-Terrain Variant Gets 7-Year Warranty

Isuzu D-Max_3.0LThe all-new Isuzu D-Max has been launched in Malaysia. The 3rd generation D-Max pick-up truck sports a bolder and more rugged design on the exterior and interior and carries more safety features. There are two engine choices and a total of seven variants available in single and double cab configuration.

The all-new Isuzu D-Max is designed from the ground up to elevate its image as a rugged pick-up truck that offer a more SUV appeal. Without sacrificing on its known dependability and capability, Isuzu engineers have delivered a vehicle that is not only quieter, more comfortable and stylish, but also a tougher and more capable as well.

They invested years in development and over four million kilometers in testing the new model to achieve the best Isuzu D-Max they have ever created. Isuzu_3.0 litre turbo diesel engineSitting at the top of the D-Max range is the X-Terrain variant. This new Isuzu D-Max lifestyle flagship is fitted with a revised 3.0L engine. Re-engineered and refined to improve performance and engine response, while reducing noise and vibration, the new engine produces 190 PS and 450 Nm @ 1,600 – 2,600 rpm. This is paired with a new 6-speed automatic gearbox that matches the shifts to the new engine’s performance characteristics to give it a more relaxed performance.

Isuzu D-Max_Interior_Steering_Dashboard_TouchscreenThe D-Max X-Terrain comes with exclusive features including remote engine start, rear differential lock, wet wiper system, brown leather seats with 8-way electronic adjustment including lumbar support, a 9″ infotainment touchscreen panel with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, as well as Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS). ADAS features include Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Turn Assist, Pedal Misapplication Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with stop & go function, Automatic High Beam (AHB), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Manual Speed Limiter (MSL) and Multi-Collision Brake that applies the brakes should any of the seven airbags deploy.

Built on a new Isuzu Dynamic Drive Platform, the all-new D-Max employs a new ladder frame that offers improved stiffness and strength to ensure better handling and durability. It also features a new suspension configuration and longer wheelbase thus allowing the engine bulk to be located further behind the front wheels and resulting in more dynamic handling and comfortable ride.

Also, joining the all-new D-Max line-up are two Premium variants i.e. a 1.9L 4×4 Auto and 3.0L 4×4 Auto – that offer outstanding motoring and comfort while remaining the dependable workhorse Isuzu is famous for. Aimed at the discerning motorists whose applications lean towards daily duties, the Premium variants are ideal for drivers who spend significant hours in the saddle as the new comfort features and safety equipment in the cabin help provide hours of fatigue-free motoring.

For the price conscious, there are two offerings of the Standard models available. These are powered by the immensely capable 1.9L engine that produces a hefty 150 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque and paired either with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. The D-Max Standard models are suited for the business community that aim to lower running costs and maintain good efficiency.

Also available are two Single Cab models in either the 1.9L or 3.0L variants. These are the go-anywhere, do-anything trucks that offer significant carrying capabilities. They also come with an array of safety features that has earned this vehicle and the entire range of Isuzu D-Max a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.

Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain_Rear_Sapphire BlueThe Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain comes exclusively in Valencia Orange or Sapphire Blue, while other models share a choice of the colours that include Silky White Pearl, Mercury Silver, Onyx Black and Splash White. All Isuzu D-Max models are covered by a 5-year or 150,000 km warranty. However, the D-Max X-Terrain enjoys a class-leading 7-year unlimited mileage warranty.
