The Castrol Hari Mekanik Malaysia event is making a return. Organised by Castrol, one of the world’s leading lubricant brands, this annual celebration aims to honour mechanics throughout Malaysia. This year’s theme is “Beat of Mechanics”, in celebration of the passion and commitment of mechanics working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep drivers safe on the road.
Castrol aims to honour this dedication to the automotive service profession throughout the month of March 2021 through a fully virtual experience. The celebration will be done via social media activations, giveaways and advertising. These experiences aim to increase awareness for the importance of mechanics to the Malaysian society, and how they keep the economy moving though these challenging times.
Over the past year, vehicles such as ambulances, police cars, trucks and delivery vehicles have been heavily depended upon to provide essential goods and services to help Malaysians stay at home and safe. Throughout this period, these vehicles require regular maintenance and care. Castrol Hari Mekanik Malaysia aims to celebrate the mechanics in Malaysia who continued to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs throughout this period as equal contributors to our nation.
The campaign will feature a social media contest where Castrol will be giving away 2 years’ supply of its most advanced fully synthetic engine oil i.e. Castrol EDGE 5W-40, along with a host of Castrol limited edition merchandise to 20 lucky winners.
The “Beat of Mechanics” contest will require you to demonstrate your dance talent through a short video based on the #beatofmechanics music and a predefined choreography displayed in the video. It is up to you to interpret this choreography through your own creativity. The short video must also feature a vehicle, as a tribute to mechanics.
For this contest, you have to post the video on your personal Facebook, Instagram or Tik Tok pages and use the official hashtags: #beatofmechanics and #CastrolHariMekanikMalaysia.
“We are immensely pleased to be able to celebrate so many inspiring Malaysian mechanics that have gone the extra mile through these challenging times. We at Castrol believe that mechanics display the unwavering spirit of Malaysians. Their unyielding passion, commitment and dedication they continue to demonstrate is evident in how patients, goods, and workers continue to arrive at their destination safely.” said Castrol Malaysia and Singapore Marketing Director, Keow Mei-Shan.
“We know people are turning to social media more than ever to stay in touch with family and friends, and the fully-virtual campaign will make it easy for people to share their support and appreciation for our mechanics” she added.
