Volkswagen Passat R-Line Now Open For Booking
The Passat R-Line has been introduced by Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) and is now open for booking. The sportier version the Passat is also locally assembled like the other new R-Line models recently introduced. The official price is pending confirmation but it is expected to be priced between RM200,000 to RM210,000.
The Passat R-Line is dressed in sporty R-Line front and rear bumpers, side R-Line badge, chrome trims and 19” Verona alloy wheels. The interior is fitted with R-Line trim on the Nappa carbon-style black leather seats, steering wheel and aluminium sports pedals.
Inspired by performance-oriented Volkswagen R models, the R-Line range was created to offer drivers a way to express their individuality and make a statement, while getting great value. Powering the Passat R-Line is a new 2.0L TSI turbocharged engine that produces 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a new and improved 7-speed wet clutch direct shift gearbox (DSG) for an exhilarating driving experience.
Safety features include Side Assist with a 180-degree detection range of up to 50 metres, and Rear Traffic Alert which warns you of approaching vehicles at an angle of 90 degrees, as you are reversing out of a parking space.
In terms of connectivity, the Passat R-Line is fitted with Volkswagen’s Discover Pro infotainment system with a 9.2” touchscreen. Convenient features include voice control, gesture control, a customisable three-view split screen and Wireless App-Connect with Apple CarPlay.
The Passat R-Line will be available in six colours. Metallic colours are Aquamarine Blue, Tamarind Brown, Manganese Grey and Reflex Silver; while two pearl-effect colours are also available at no additional charge i.e. Deep Black and Oryx White.
