PROTON today celebrated a special occasion. 35 years ago today (9 July 1985), the first Proton i.e. the Saga, was introduced to Malaysia. This was supposed to symbolise the start of the industrialisation of Malaysia’s economy, and start an entire industrial ecosystem for the automotive industry. With such an important model and cause, it is only natural for PROTON to take opportunity to introduce a commemorative Proton Saga Anniversary Edition.
“The Proton Saga is the car that put Malaysia, and therefore our economy on wheels and, it is still doing so,” shared PROTON Chairman, Dato’ Sri Syed Faisal Albar.
The Proton Saga Anniversary Edition commemorates and celebrates the first Proton Saga delivered in 1985. It is limited to just 1,100 units, and is available exclusively in black with yellow highlights on the exterior and interior of the car. It is priced at RM39,300 which is the same as the current Saga Premium AT after the sales tax rebate.
Also unveiled during the online launch was the 35th Anniversary Accessories package which includes Front Skirting, Side Skirtings, Door Visors, Hood Insulator, Trunk Lid Cover and Boot Tray. The accessories package is priced at RM2,035 and is available for purchase separately. Compatible with the 2019 Saga model, the anniversary accessories package offers a cost savings of RM315. The cumulative cost of purchasing the parts individually is RM2,350.
“The Saga Anniversary Edition is a special gift for a special occasion to all Malaysians. It is our way of saying thank you for supporting the Saga for the past 35 years. Plus, you can order it today by visiting our showrooms or booking it online” said PROTON CEO Dr. Li Chunrong.
Besides these, PROTON also took the opportunity to announce the availability of the N95 Cabin Filter. It was first made available for the Proton X70 but will be included in Saga, Persona, Iriz and Exora models registered after 9 July 2020. Current owners will have the option to purchase the N95 Cabin Filter for RM59 (excluding labour charges).
For a limited period until 9 October 2020, there will be a 15% discount on the N95 filter i.e. RM50.15.
