Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia will be launching the new Range Rover Evoque in a few days’ time. Due to the current situation, the launch will be online and will be open to the public who are invited to join in. The official launch will be broadcast on Land Rover Malaysia’s official Facebook page on 26 June 2020 at 11 am.

During the online launch, you will be able to view and listen to a thorough description of the car, to give you a more in-depth explanation of the vehicle. Land Rover’s new luxury SUV will show off an updated design as well as new features, including an Artificial Intelligence system.

New Range Rover EvoqueThe new Evoque looks to be an evolution of the original model’s distinctive coupe-like silhouette, with its fast roofline and rising belt line. New slim LED headlights and tail lights emphasise the vehicle’s new design language while flushed door handles give the sides a smoother look.

Giving power to the new Evoque is a new 2.0L petrol turbocharged Ingenium engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain combo promisese fast response to throttle demand and a more engaging drive as boost pressure is delivered nearly instantaneously.

Further, the new Evoque is also the first Land Rover model to feature Smart Settings which is a system that uses artificial intelligence algorithms to learn the driver’s preferences. The system will then use the driver’s preference to automate comfort and driver-specific media settings throughout the drive.

Range Rover Evoque_Rear ViewBy ‘self-learning’, the system also recognises the drivers from their key fob and phones and will thereby set their seat and steering column positions on approach. This system has the ability to register and remember up to eight profiles. After a few journeys, the Evoque will remember the driver’s preferred temperature settings, media preferences and commonly dialled numbers, depending on the time or day of the week.

Another feature is the Driver Condition Monitor which detects the driver’s steering inputs. Should it detect jerky, non-linear movements that are typical symptoms of driving fatigue, it will automatically trigger an audible and visual warning in the instrument cluster.

Another notable feature is the ClearSight suite which includes rear mirror view as well as ground view. This system uses camera feed to help the driver see out the rear or under the hood when visibility is blocked.

Other key features in the cabin include the Land Rover InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system that combines two sleek 10″ high definition glass touchscreens and a 12.3″ driver display behind the steering wheel.

The new Evoque is also designed with a much larger and wider luggage space which can easily fit a folded pram or a set of golf clubs. The cargo space of 591 litres increases to 1,383 litres when the 40:20:40 second row seats are folded.

More details on the features, pricing and variants will be announced at the launch.
