Honda Malaysia recently announced that the Honda HR-V RS is getting a new interior colour addition i.e. a classy dark brown leather. This new dark brown leather interior is offered as an alternative choice to the existing stylish black leather interior. This new interior colour covers the centre console, front panel, driver and passenger seats (front and rear), as well as the door panel lining.
There is no change in price for the HR-V RS with the new dark brown leather interior i.e. RM124,800 on the road without insurance. The HR-V RS is available in 3 exterior colour options i.e. Passion Red Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic and White Orchid Pearl.
Launched in 2015, the HR-V is one of the more popular SUVs for Malaysians. Since its launch, Honda has sold more than 91,000 units (as of May 2020). The HR-V received a facelift in January 2019, which has seen more than 19,000 units sold (May 2020). Of this figure, the RS variant makes up about 21% of total sales for the HR-V facelift. As a result, it holds the No. 1 position in the Non-National Compact SUV segment with an 85% market share (as of April 2020).
“The HR-V RS received overwhelming response from the market since we introduced it in early 2019. Then, based on customers’ feedback for an enhanced touch of sophistication, we introduced the stylish black leather interior for the HR-V RS. Today, we are delighted to provide yet another selection of interior styling to suit the differing personalities of our discerning customers – the new classy dark brown leather interior. We are committed to continuously improve our product offerings as we listen to customers’ feedback and market demand,” said Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Toichi Ishiyama.
The HR-V RS continues to be powered by a 1.8L SOHC i-VTEC engine which is combined with Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) to deliver a balance of performance and fuel efficiency. It is also equipped with a Variable Gear Ratio (VGR) steering system for a sportier and more responsive driving experience.
The HR-V RS also has class-leading and functional features such as the 7″ Display Audio, Paddle Shifters and Honda LaneWatch. This model also sets the benchmark in the Compact SUV segment with its popular and practical Multi-Utility Cargo Space, which offers excellent cabin and trunk space for flexible usage. Standard safety features for the HR-V include six airbags, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Automatic Brake Hold (ABH), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Rear Seat ISOFIX.
Mr. Ishiyama further added, “In recent months, Malaysia has gone through an unprecedented and challenging period. All our frontliners are still working hard to fight COVID-19 pandemic and we are thankful for their sacrifices in the past months – even more so during the festive season of Hari Raya. Following the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), we have monitored the situation closely at Honda dealerships and we are pleased to observe that the public are adhering to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and social distancing measures that were implemented at our dealerships. It is also very encouraging to see the positive spirit from all Malaysians in working together for a better Malaysia. We would like to further emphasise that all “Our Dealers Are Ready For You” – to receive customers and visitors within a safe and hassle-free environment. Our SOP and strict guidelines will remain in place for the safety and well-being of our customers and associates.”
