UMW Toyota Motor To Reopen Selected Aftersales Service Centres
UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) has announced that it has received approval from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) to reopen selected Toyota service centres during the extended period of the Movement Control Order (MCO); all businesses classified as non-essential had halted operations since 18 March 2020.
With the MCO currently extended until 28 April 2020, MITI has approved the resumption of automotive aftersales services at selected outlets. These selected authorised Toyota service centres will be open for emergency and urgent service requirements only, and at minimum capacity.
The services are by appointment only. You will need to contact the nearest service centre to confirm if it is in operation, and to secure an appointment slot before visiting the service centre. The service centre locations and contact details are listed here. Alternatively you can call the Toyota Free Phone number (1800-8-869682). You are also strongly reminded to keep in mind that the MCO restrictions still apply on your travel.
UMWT will make every effort to ensure the safety and protection of customers when they visit the service centres, which will continue to practice social distancing (at least 1 metre or more apart) to avoid any possible transmission of the virus.
As for the vehicles purchased from UMWT or its authorised dealers with existing warranties that are valid and expiring during the MCO period, the company will be giving a 30-day extension, calculated from the last day of the MCO.
The company will also continue to provide all customers with assistance for any emergencies or enquiries during the MCO period through its existing helplines.
You can contact the following numbers throughout the duration of the MCO:
“As we always place customer care as a top priority, all Toyota vehicles sent to our service centres will receive a thorough inspection to ensure they are in good running order. However, we also urge customers to adhere to the regulations of the Movement Control Order and help to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus,” said Ravindran K. President of UMW Toyota Motor.
