Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival Vios Challenge Round 4 At Sepang Will Be A Closed Door Event

In light of all the recent cancellations of sporting events that we hear, there is some good news – The Vios Challenge at the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival on 18 – 19 April 2020 will carry on as planned. With the good news, there is always some bad news, and that is this Round 4 race at Sepang International Circuit will be a closed door event.

Toyota Gazoo Racing_Vios Challenge_Finale_Sepang_A7M7661This means the final race of the third season of the Vios Challenge will not be open to members of the public. Only the crew from the race teams and the organiser will be allowed into Sepang. On both days of the event, the organiser will set up and conduct health screenings for the racers, race team members and crew prior to entering the race premise. As a result of it being a closed event, there will not be any of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival events that are usually held e.g. drift demo, mini concerts, meet-the-fans sessions, etc.

UMW Toyota Motor has to do this to minimise health risks for and safeguard the well-being of the Malaysian public as well as the members of the racing teams.

“We trust that our fans appreciate the current situation. All the races will still be published live on Toyota’s Facebook and Youtube accounts and we invite everyone to cheer on their favourite racers and celebrities by tuning in to the live shows,” said UMW Toyota Motor Chief Motorsports Officer, Akio Takeyama.
