Euro 4M RON 95 Petrol to be Officially Available on 1 January 2020, but is Already Available at Petronas

The government has mandated the switch to Euro 4M standard for RON 95 petrol starting 1 January 2020 and PETRONAS has already made it available since early this month, ahead of the gazetted date of implementation. That means all PETRONAS stations nationwide are now supplying Euro 4M RON 95 fuel.

Petronas Station_Fuel PumpStill branded as Primax 95 with Pro-Drive, the new fuel specifications contain just 50 parts per million (ppm) sulphur, which is 10 times less than the outgoing Euro 2M standard for RON 95 petrol. Furthermore, the benzene content also sees a reduction by 30% to 3.5%. Meanwhile, vapour pressure has come down by 7% to 65kPa. What this means is that the new Euro 4M fuel is now cleaner for both the engine and the environment.

Petronas Dagangan Berhad’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed M Tahir commented: “Our RON 95 fuel has been upgraded to Euro 4M standard at all our stations since early December. With this upgrade, our customers will not just enjoy a smoother, more responsive and efficient drive, but also a cleaner fuel which works together with today’s modern vehicles in reducing air pollution to deliver both health and climate benefits. Ultimately, PETRONAS Primax 95 with Pro-Drive is good for the engine, and the environment.”
