Goodyear Eagle F1 Range Of Ultra High Performance Tyres Introduced In Malaysia

The Goodyear Eagle F1 range of Ultra High Performance (UHP) tyres has been introduced by Goodyear Malaysia to the market, with the latest additions being the SuperSport RS, SuperSport R, SuperSport, Asymmetric 5 along with the Asymmetric 3 SUV.

In addition to this series of new tyres, Goodyear is planning to introduce a brand new tyre in 2020 to the Eagle F1 range. This tyre will come in smaller sizes (16″ – 18″) and will enable driving enthusiasts to enjoy premium tyres at competitive prices, in line with Goodyear’s commitment to thrill seeking drivers.

The Eagle F1 range launch in Malaysia follows Goodyear’s recent sponsorship of three participating teams in the FIA World Endurance Championship (a.k.a. Le Mans) i.e. Jota Sport, Jackie Chan DC Racing and High Class Racing.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyre is designed for comfort, control and superior grip especially in the wet. Through the use of an innovative U-shaped compound, the Eagle F1 SuperSport Series has specialised power zones that creates pockets of control for exceptional wet and dry handling. Tyres deform under stress but the Eagle F1 SuperSport has a tread deformation protector to help it maintain its shape, allowing better footprint preservation for high-speed stability. To increase grip during cornering, Goodyear applied a closed outside pattern, which allows for more agile performance. Additionally, it also has a stiffer sidewall design which improves handling and stability.

Meanwhile, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 offers luxurious comfort and superior braking performance in wet conditions. The specialised tread design and Impulse Control Compound Technology, which is a highly refined silica compound, allow the tyre to endure the force of high-speed braking, thus shortening the braking distance. This compound also allows a patch extension through Goodyear’s ActiveBraking Technology, which enables the tyre to expand slightly when braking to create more grip using its walls. Further, its Power Cushion Technology, which enables the stiff coupling of the carcass (the internal cord layer of that absorbs shock and load) and pattern, produces precise power transmission, for better dry handling.

For larger cars and SUVs, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 SUV is designed to be sturdy while contributing to better fuel economy due to its low rolling resistance. It is also capable of shortening braking distance with its ActiveBraking Technology in any condition. A specialised compound known as Grip Booster helps increase the tyre’s stickiness with the road surface, allowing it to be comfortable yet maintain handling when travelling at higher speeds, giving the driver better control of the vehicle.
