The 2019 Ramadhan Raya promotion campaign by Goodyear Malaysia saw the company receive about 4,000 entries between the promotion period of 1 May and 30 June 2019. The campaign was started with the aim to advocate road safety with the replacement of worn tyres with new tyres from reputable brands, particularly at a time when many will be driving long distances for the festive season. This echoes the concern that the Ministry of Works has for road safety, after releasing its findings that showed up to 10,000 accidents occur on the roads due to retreaded tyres.
Chee Lip Choon, Sales Director of Goodyear Malaysia said: “The importance of car safety and tyre health cannot be downplayed. For this reason, we have made it our global commitment to encourage being safe on the road by closely monitoring the state of your tyres. We hope that our 2019 Ramadhan Raya Promo Campaign would have given many Malaysians the opportunity to purchase new tyres during the long drive home throughout the recent Hari Raya and help spread awareness on when and how to change your car’s tyres.”
Among the participants of this promotion, Shamsuddin bin Abdul Jalil was selected as the lucky person to walk away with the grand prize i.e. a brand new Honda City and a 10-year supply of Goodyear tyres.
“This is the first time I have won a brand new car through a contest! I still can’t believe it and cannot thank Goodyear enough for this, it is good to know that my practice of replacing worn tyres to Goodyear’s Assurance TripleMax 2 during the festive holidays paid off in the best ways – my family and I were kept safe and we even got a new car!,” said Shamsuddin.
