Takata Airbag Recall Campaign Extended To 2015 Nissan Navara D40, Grand Livina L10 And X-Gear L10 In Malaysia

Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) and Tan Chong Ekspres Auto Servis Centre (TCEAS) have announced a recall campaign extension to include three models for the replacement of the Takata airbag inflator module for the driver and front passenger.

This follows an investigation conducted by Nissan Motor Co. Ltd which had identified that approximately 11,971 units of Nissan vehicles in Malaysia are affected due to the integrity of the Takata airbag inflator module. The models affected are:

Do note that the Nissan NP300 Navara which was launched in November 2015 in Malaysia, as well as other current Nissan models are not affected by this recall exercise.

Nissan Navara, this Mother Trucker is yours for RM104k.Owners of the abovementioned affected Nissan vehicles will be notified directly by mail by TCEAS, and are advised to call the nearest TCEAS outlet for an appointment. All labour and replacement parts for this service campaign will be at no cost to owners.

Selected TCEAS outlets have extended operation hours and are open 365 days a year, to make it easier for customers to service their vehicles on weekends and public holidays, as well as to alleviate capacity surge during this recall campaign.

Mertzyu Auto Nissan 3S_Service CentreAs at June 2019, TCEAS has completed Takata airbag inflator replacements for 99,670 vehicles or 56% of affected vehicles. However, there remains many affected vehicles that have yet to be sent in by owners for the replacement exercise.

Therefore, ETCM and TCEAS want to remind these Nissan owners and urge them to make arrangements to replace their affected Takata airbag inflator at the nearest TCEAS outlet to avoid any potential injury and fatality. Naturally, some of these affected vehicles would have gone through ownership changes and if you are driving one of the models listed above (and below), please make sure to send it in ASAP.
