BMW Malaysia Adds BMW 530e M Sport And 520i Luxury To Line-Up

BMW Malaysia has added the BMW 530e M Sport and BMW 520i Luxury to its popular 5-Series executive sedan range.

“Globally, the BMW Group has successfully delivered over 600,000 vehicles to new owners in the first quarter of 2019, and we are proud to mirror that success locally at BMW Group Malaysia. Having delivered over 3,100 BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad vehicles, we have recorded a double-digit growth of over 19% compared to the same period last year. Of the total cars delivered the first quarter of this year, more than 50% comprised of electrified BMW and MINI vehicles,” Hoelzl added.

The new BMW 530e M Sport (RM338,800)

The BMW 530e M Sport plug-in hybrid is powered by an inline four-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo 2.0L petrol engine combined with the BMW eDrive system’s electric motor. This gives the car an overall output of 252 hp and 420 Nm of torque, enabling a cenutry sprint time of 6.2 seconds. With a top speed of 235 km/h, the New BMW 530e M Sport consumes only 2.3l/100 km of fuel with a lowered CO2 emission of 53 g/km.

Wearing the M Sport Package, the 530e M Sport is framed by BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line and is accentuated by the ornamental kidney grille with Active Air Stream for optimum aerodynamics. The 530e M Sport also features as standard, LED fog lights and adaptive LED headlights combined with BMW Selective Beam, an anti-dazzle high-beam assistant.

New 19″ M light alloy Double-Spoke 664 M wheels in black with mixed tyres, with flat tyre indicator, M Sport brakes with blue-painted M brake callipers, and chrome trapezoidal exhaust tailpipe finishers complete the sporty exterior look.

Safety-wise, the car is equpped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) that is complemented by Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist.

Inside, the 530e M Sport is fitted with the exclusive M leather steering wheel, M illuminated door sill finishers and M-specific pedals along with stylish sport seats for both the driver and the passenger. The upholstery is Dakota Leather while the headliner is BMW Individual anthracite. Interior trim finishing is Aluminium Rhombicle with Pearl Chrome highlight trim finishers.

The 530e M Sport is equipped with BMW ConnectedDrive services – an all-encompassing digital service designed to aid personal mobility which integrates the vehicle into the user’s digital life via multiple touchpoints. The multi-function 12.3″ high-resolution colour display with black-panel technology is specially designed for the instrument cluster in front of the driver. The new business sedan is also equipped with Navigation System Professional that features a 10.25” touchscreen interface.

Comfort Access is installed for added convenience, with seamless opening and closing of doors and contact-less boot lid operation. The Driving Assistance suite includes Lane Departure and Change Warning, front collision alert with brake intervention, rear collision prevention and crossing-traffic warning. Owners can also benefit from Cruise Control with braking function, as well as use Parking Assistant for automatic parallel and perpendicular parking.

The 530e M Sport is available in Black Sapphire or Sophisto Grey, paired with either the Black or Night Blue Leather Dakota upholstery; or in Bluestone or Alpine White paired with Black Leather Dakota upholstery.

The new BMW 520i Luxury (RM328,800)

The BMW 520i Luxury is also (and only) powered by the inline four-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo 2.0L petrol engine which generates a maximum 184 hp and 290 Nm of torque. Paired with the 8-Speed Steptronic transmission, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and has a top speed of 235 km/h. This business sedan consumes 6.2l / 100 km of fuel on average and has a CO2 emission rate of 141 g/km.

The car is kitted with a Chrome Line Exterior package, LED adaptive headlights and LED fog lights, new 18” light alloy V-spoke wheels in style 684 with run-flat tyres, flat tyre indicators, and chrome exhaust tailpipe finishers.

For safety, the 520i Luxury shares the same high-level safety features as the 530e M Sport i.e. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) that is complemented by Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist.

The interior is furnished with Dakota leather upholstery and high-gloss black interior trim finishers. A sport leather steering wheel, sports front seats, Sensatec dashboard, aluminium door sill finishers that have front and rear illumination, and relaxing ambient lighting in 11 predefined designs, and in six spectacular colours, complete the cabin.

Just like the 530e M Sport, the 520i Luxury is also equipped with BMW ConnectedDrive features including Intelligent Emergency Call and Teleservices. It also features Bluetooth and USB connectivity, with extended smartphone connectivity. There is also a 10.25” touchscreen interface of the Navigation System Professional, and a high-resolution 12.3” multi-functional instrument display with black-panel technology as well as a 20GB hard drive for audio files.

Comfort Access and automatic four-zone climate control are also standard, like the 530e M Sport, as are the Driving Assistance, Parking Assistant and rear view camera.

Colour choices include Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, Imperial Blue or Alpine White, paired with Black Leather Dakota upholstery, featuring exclusive stitching in contrast Black.

Dynamic financial services

BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia has made available the Easy Drive scheme where ownership of the New BMW 530e M Sport starts from RM4,558 per month, and ownership of the 520i Luxury starts from RM4,428 per month. These are based on the estimates of an 80% loan on a four-year tenure, with a mileage capped at 20,000 km per year.
