Petronas And Its Customers Help Out Charitable Organisations

The month of Ramadan is the time for giving and sharing and Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB), the retail arm of the national oil company, with the help of its retail customers, have taken this opportunity to help out five charitable organisations.

Petronas Dagangan Berhad, Iftar@Mesra, Charity 2018Rumah Kasih Harmoni, Rumah Kebajikan Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Rumah Titian Kaseh, Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih and Persatuan Orang Buta Malaysia, each received RM10,000 from PDB. Part of this donation came from its customers’ contribution when they purchased the Iftar@Mesra pack during the month of Ramadan.

The Iftar@Mesra pack costs RM5 and can be purchased at the Kedai Mesra convenience stores; RM0.50 from every pack sold goes to the needy. The Iftar@Mesra pack contains a bottle of mineral water, a packet of dates and a Snickers chocolate bar, and is an extension of the Mornings@Mesra programme catered to the fasting month.

Petronas Dagangan Berhad, Iftar@Mesra, Aadrin Azly“The Iftar@Mesra is a new initiative by us to provide our customers the convenience of grabbing something light especially when they are on the road and unable to make it home in time for buka puasa. At the same time, we are pleased that part of the sales of the Iftar@Mesra pack is channeled to a meaningful cause and we would like to thank all those who have contributed to the programme,” said Aadrin Azly, PDB’s Head of Retail Business.

“PDB is also adding on to the amount collected so that each charitable organisation will take home a total of RM10,000 today. It is hoped that this contribution would help relieve some of the financial burden incurred especially for the upcoming Hari Raya celebration,” he added.

Petronas Dagangan Berhad, Iftar@Mesra, Charitable Homes Contribution, 2018 MalaysiaThe total of RM50,000 will reach out to about 450 less fortunate comprising children and senior citizens, and will help towards the homes’ expenses. The contribution as well as gifts to guests from these homes were given out at a simple ceremony where they were also treated to a buka puasa feast.

The Iftar@Mesra packs will be available until 16 June 2018, so you can still have a simple buka puasa yet contribute to charity.
