Weststar Maxus To Absorb 6% GST Between Now And 31 May 2018
With the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reducing to 0% effective 1 June 2018, Weststar Maxus, the sole distributor of Maxus vehicles in Malaysia, has revised its product price list to reflect this. Further, in the spirit of Ramadan, Weststar Maxus has made its price revision effective immediately and will absorb the 6% GST that is still applicable until 31 May 2018. The price reductions range between RM5,000 to RM10,000 for its product line-up i.e. the G10 luxury people mover and the V80 commercial vehicle.
“This initiative is aimed at making the full range of our vehicles more affordable to Malaysians,” says Tan Sri Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim, Group Managing Director, the Weststar Group. “We are now in an expansion phase and want to strengthen our brand and quality proposition to the widest target segments across the country.”
The company has plans to open two new showrooms in the next couple of months i.e. in Penang and Kota Bharu, Kelantan. In February, Weststar Maxus opened a showroom in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.
“The marquee value of Weststar Maxus has gained considerable traction among family and commercial segments in the last two years, and we are confident that our product range has the price, quality, and features advantages to succeed as a premium brand,” notes Tan Sri Syed Azman.
Priced from RM130,000, the Maxus G10 range is powered by a 2.0T turbocharged direct injection engine paired with a ZF 6-speed automated manual gearbox, with 225 hp and 345 Nm on tap. Body colour options are Obsidian Black, Blanc White, Aurora Silver, Weststar Blue, Amber Gold, and Lava Grey.
