2018 Malaysia Autoshow Showcases Connected Mobility
The 2018 Malaysia Autoshow is showcasing Connected Mobility technology that will potentially impact the future of our lifestyles, interaction,communication and the way we do business. This technology of digital information connectivity is supposed to be addressed in the soon-to-be-announced National Automotive Policy 2018 (NAP2018), which should cover the role of modern transportation as an extension of the smart gadgetry that you own e.g. digitally connecting vehicles with city infrastructure. It could also cover topics such as smart shared transportation, manufacturing, telematics and artificial intelligence.
Besides visiting the booths in Hall D of the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) that highlight the possibilities of smart technology, you can sample of the new technology that is already available in the latest vehicles at the experience showcase outdoors. Available for experience are the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Assistance, and Adaptive Cruise Control safety features. Other outdoor experiences include a Toyota 4×4 Off-Road ride, Mitsubishi obstacle course, go-karting and shows by 4×4 clubs.
Other happenings outside include test drives of various brands, Mercedes-Benz pop-up kiosk and its new EQ Power brand, and a display of pre-owned cars by Perodua and Volkswagen. There is a free shuttle service to ferry you between the outdoor displays and the exhibition halls.
Inside Halls A and C of MAEPS, you will get to see newly launched and current vehicles such as the Honda Civic Type R, Kia Optima GT, Mazda MX-5, Perodua Bezza GXtra, Peugeot 5008, Range Rover Velar and Volkswagen Golf R-Line. Also on display are vehicles that are expected to be launched later in the year e.g. Nissan Serena S-Hybrid, Haval H9, and Borgward BX5 and BX7.
Also in Hall D is a career fair so be sure to bring along your curriculum vitae if you are interested in getting employment in the automotive sector.
