The Range Rover Velar, winner of the 2018 World Car Design Of The Year at the World Car Awards, is slated for a Malaysia launch soon and there are more details of Jaguar Land Rover’s latest model available before it officially goes on sale.
The Range Rover Velar will be fitted with the turbocharged 2.0L Ingenium P250 engine and 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox, with 250 PS and 365 Nm moving to the four wheels via its Intelligent Driveline Dynamics system.
The Velar’s body is built with an aluminium-intensive monocoque using Jaguar Land Rover’s Lightweight Aluminium Architecture. The amount of aluminium alloys used is unmatched – more than 81% of the body-in-white, allowing for a lighter yet stiff body. The Velar runs a double-wishbone front and Integral Link rear suspension set-up for agile handling, superior ride comfort and outstanding refinement.
Other notable features that complements its luxurious and contemporary styling are:
- Slim LED headlights
- Intelligent high beam assist
- Flushed door handles
- 21″ alloy wheels
- Two 10″ high definition touchscreens
- Head-up display
- Virtual Instrument TFT display
- Navigation Pro system
- Cruise control and speed limiter
- Surround camera
- Powered gesture tailgate
Safety equipment include six airbags, and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems. However, the Malaysia version won’t be equipped with Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection just yet.
