BMW Group Malaysia has set up three new BMW i Charging Stations in WEIL Hotel, Ipoh, Perak. Unveiled together with BMW authorised dealer, Tian Siang Premium Auto, this follows the introduction of BMW i Charging Stations in Holiday Inn Melaka and The Equatorial Melaka (with Seong How Premium Motors), and in CityONE Megamall Kuching (with Regas Premium Auto Sarawak). Now you can go on a trip to these cities or hotels with your plug-in hybrid and not have to worry about the lack of charging stations.
“The introduction of these new BMW i Charging Stations for the first time here in Perak further demonstrates our ongoing commitment to drive Future Mobility in the country. Having charted an all-time high deliveries for our BMW iPerformance range of vehicles last year, and with Malaysia being the fifth largest market for BMW Hybrid with eDrive technology vehicles, we are pleased to be taking the lead in electro-mobility and future mobility in the country. In part, it is also important to continuously expand accessibility of charging stations to our customers, particularly through our network of authorised dealerships,” said Mr. Harald Hoelzl, Managing Director and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia at the unveiling.
Mr. Tan Ka Kin, Dealer Principal of Tian Siang Premium Auto, added that 2017 was also a successful year for the premium dealership. “We delivered over 400 BMW vehicles in the state of Perak last year. More than 45% of these vehicles comprised of BMW iPerformance vehicles and this number will continue to grow steadily. It is only natural that we take a step forward to further develop the charging infrastructure together with our premium partners here in the State,” he elaborated.
Meanwhile, Mr. Liew Yu-Wei, Executive Director of WEIL Hotel Ipoh added, “At WEIL, we are dedicated to satisfying our customers through authentic best-in- class hospitality, a belief similar to that of Tian Siang Premium Auto. With our strategic location as a transit hub for many local and international tourists, business travellers and families, we believe that the addition of BMW i Charging Stations will further provide our guests with a truly connected lifestyle.”
BMW Group Malaysia’s portfolio of Visionary Mobility with the BMW iPerformance vehicles are also supported by the ChargEV platform through its partnership with the Malaysian Green Technology Corporation. The BMW ChargeNow service, which is offered as part of the BMW 360° ELECTRIC programme, also grants straightforward access to partner charging stations like ChargEV, where BMW owners can enjoy 24/7 support and access to all charging locations in ChargEV’s growing charging network which currently numbers more than 270 charging facilities nationwide.
