Present at the launching ceremony were YBhg Dato’ Ahmad Fuaad Kenali, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, En. Zubair Abdul Razak, Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd (PLMM) and the Senior Management of both PROTON and PETRONAS.

With this new engine oil for Proton cars, PETRONAS is addressing the latest issues that drivers are facing today, in particular heat build-up. While cars are moving, drivers are not aware that the excessive engine heat continues to build-up, especially during traffic congestion, driving up steep slopes and continuous acceleration on highways. As a result, it affects the engines in the long run. Thus, it is important for drivers to use the right engine oil that is able to handle the stress of modern day driving conditions. The special formulation by Petronas includes cooling agents for the engine.

The PETRONAS Syntium SE range is now available at all PROTON authorised service centres. This is a testament of PROTON’s Customer First initiative, to provide better value to its customers not only in terms of better cars, performance and protection but also cost of ownership. The introduction of this exclusive range of engine oils for PROTON cars will create better value for loyal PROTON customers for both short and long term. With this new collaboration, PROTON owners may save up to 20% on their next service at any authorised PROTON Edar outlets.

There are 3 options for Proton customers: fully synthetic PETRONAS Syntium 3000 SE (5W-30)semi-synthetic PETRONAS Syntium 800 SE (10W-30) and PETRONAS Syntium 500 SE (15W-40) which is mineral-based. These ranges are recommended by PETRONAS in giving optimum performance, for a trouble-free drive. At present, all Proton cars have service interval of 10,000km and this is applicable for all the engine oils including the new PETRONAS Syntium SE engine oils.

“With the introduction of the PETRONAS Syntium SE exclusive range of engine oils, PROTON customers are able to enjoy better value whenever they service their cars at any PROTON authorised service centers. In addition, they will have better experience in terms of car performance at improved maintenance costs,” said Dato’ Fuaad.

“The move to introduce the Petronas Syntium SE Engine Oils range is part of the Company’s effort to provide better customer service experience and to lower cost of ownership in the long run to its customers. Some of the service enhancements include increasing the number of our 7-days a week service centres from 23 outlets to 27 outlets to cater to the growing number of service demands by end of the year. Not only that, PROTON has also streamlined its parts prices for over 600 items in its recent price-review exercise to make them more competitive and provide better value. Further, our customers are also able to book slots for services via the MyProton mobile application which are available via Android and iOS platforms and more efforts are in progress to meet the demands and needs of our customers,” continued Dato’ Fuaad.
