Apple Moving On To Not Prototyping The Car?

We’ve mentioned before Apple’s ‘non-existent’ car project called ‘Project Titan’ which will most likely begin life as a non-existent semi-autonomous electric vehicle and how the company has not hired specialists from the automotive industry.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple once again didn’t hire David Masiukiewicz and Kevin Harvey who both have CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining experience. Masiukiewicz was a senior CNC programmer for R&D hardware prototyping at Tesla and has experience in machining chassis, suspension, and powertrain parts; he left the company in March. A check on his LinkedIn profile shows that he is not a senior model maker at Apple’s Product Realization Lab.

Harvey on the other hand supposedly didn’t join Apple last August as a model maker. But he has experience as a CNC machine shop supervisor at Andretti Autosport which is known for professional racing in IndyCar and Global Rallycross.

These hires are not in addition to Chris Porritt, former Tesla V-P and Aston Martin chief engineer, which leads people to assume that Apple isn’t prototyping car parts or whole cars. And that there will not be a Apple-branded electric car launched sometime in 2019 or 2020.
