Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Adds C180 And C300 To Its Line-up
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is making available two new C-Class variants – the C 180 Avantgarde and C 300 with AMG Line, making it a total of five C-Class variants, to offer its customers a wider range of choice.
“The World’s Car of the Year in 2015, the C-Class has been one of the best-sellers in our vehicle range, with more than 4,000 vehicles sold to date, since its introduction in 2014. The localised C-Class itself has been very well-received by the customers. It is truly a model that has set new standards in the premium mid-size limousine segment. As part of our continued commitment and further investment to the local market, we are happy to introduce the C 180 and C 300. These two variants will further cater for the individual requirements and providing a wider choice to our esteemed customers,” said Mark Raine, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.
The C 180 and C 300 are priced (without insurance) from RM228,888 and RM307,888 respectively.
The C 180 is equipped with a four-cylinder 1.6L petrol engine, which generates 156 hp and 250 Nm of torque, that’s paired to a 7G-TRONIC PLUS 7-speed automatic transmission for driving efficiency. The C 180 in Avantgarde line has 17″ 5-spoke alloy wheels and AGILITY CONTROL suspension with selective damping system for enhanced driving dynamics.
With the DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes “Economy”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport+” or “Individual”, the gearshift characteristics can be preset from highly economical to dynamic. In “Individual” mode, gears can be selected manually via the steering wheel gearshift paddles (“M” mode). Drivers looking to adopt a sporty driving style are able to change gears similar to the method used in motorsports.
Entertainment features include the Audio 20 multimedia system combines entertainment, information and communication with internet capability, radio, twin tuner and CD player. It enables networking with mobile devices via Bluetooth® and offers navigation capability in conjunction with other equipment features. The Audio 20 CD can be operated with the touchpad and is equipped with a CD drive (MP3/WMA/AAC/WAV-capable) and in conjunction with the Garmin® MAP PILOT. Also standard in the C 180, the Active Parking Assist enables automated parking with active steering and brake intervention in both parallel and end-on parking spaces.
Meanwhile, at the top of the range is the C 300 AMG Line (if you don’t count the AMG C 63S) which comes with a 2.0L engine that outputs 245 hp and 370 Nm of torque. With sports car-like performance figures to boast, the C 300 accelerates from 0 – 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
Featuring a commanding and sporty appearance with 19″ multi-spoke AMG alloy wheels and a sports suspension lowered by 15 mm, the vehicle’s dynamic character is reflected in the striking AMG design. The C 300 is also equipped with sports exhaust system for sportier character and reinforces the emotional sound experience. The acoustics can be tailored to suit personal taste in conjunction with the DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes via the integrated exhaust flap.
The C 300 comes with LED Intelligent Light System with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, which makes driving with permanent high-beam possible by masking detected road users in the cone of light for the first time. As a result, the best possible headlamp range is always available to the driver. The function is active from a speed of 30 km/h on roads with no road lighting.
Further, the C 300 also features COMAND Online, a control and display system with DVD player, radio and 10 GB memory for compressed audio files (mp3, wma, aac, wav) and video files (mpeg, avi up to 720p). With COMAND Online, information is shown on an 8.4″ high-resolution colour display with intuitive touchpad.
The Burmester® surround sound system contains 13 high-performance speakers configured specifically for this vehicle with a total system output of 590 watts. The vehicle interior can be fragranced to suit personal preference with the AIR-BALANCE package, with four high-quality interior fragrances to choose from. In addition, the air quality can be improved by ionization and optimized filtering. The electric panoramic sliding sunroof allows in light and can automatically adjust its level to suit current vehicle speed and maintain a calm cabin ambience; it also responds automatically to rain: If opened, it automatically moves to the raised position to prevent rain from entering the interior.
