It’s been a long road, getting from there to here…

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and the memorable journey have thus far shared with Autoworld began indeed with the perhaps the most casual of steps.

As someone who graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and never having really expressed any interest in the arts, the career choice of a motoring journalist was, shall we say, not on the script. Yet, a confluence of several very fortunate coincidences saw me take up a role as a part time content contributor in late 2008 before eventually accepting an offer to be a full-time writer for the site in June 2009.

And what a ride it has been since I came on board. Six and a half years zoomed by at breakneck pace. In this job, I have traveled to places and lived through experiences that I had never envisioned myself doing. As the boy who grew up saving his pocket money for car magazines, earning a living from testing cars is a dream come true. This is an industry which I feel thoroughly humbled, privileged, and extremely grateful to be a part of.

However, as they say, all good things must come to an end, and my good times at Autoworld draws to a close today. Leaving the very place from which I built the basis of my growth in this wonderful industry was a tough decision to make, but I felt the time is right for me to embrace a new challenge.

I leave this post with bringing many fond memories with me; Autoworld will always hold a special place in my heart.

Every publication and writer are only as good as their readers; my sincerest appreciations go to all of you who visit this website. In my absence, business will continue as usual here at Autoworld, which we should remember, has been around since 1999, and I suspect will continue to remain in business for a while more.

A new writer, Mr Zachary Ho, has been appointed and will commence duties here effective next week. Zachary is an avid motoring enthusiast with strong work ethics; I’m looking forward to see him bring his new ideas to the website and bring Autoworld hopefully to greater heights.
