Prices of facelifted Porsche Cayenne announced
The newly-facelifted version of the second-generation Porsche Cayenne was launched in Malaysia recently to coincide with the official opening of the new Porsche Sg Besi outlet on 28 May 2015. Five variants were introduced, although no prices could be announced then as docket pricing had yet to be approved by then.
Inclusive of all applicable duties but excluding registration fee, road tax, and insurance, pricing of the new Cayenne range starts at RM640,000 for the base V6 petrol and Diesel models. Further up comes the Cayenne S at RM760,000 followed by the S E-Hybrid and S Diesel variants at RM770,000 and RM780,000 respectively.
A further variants are introduced at the top of the pile, namely the Cayenne GTS which starts from RM900,000 and the Cayenne Turbo from RM1,150,000. Powered by an enhanced version of the 3.6-litre bi-turbo V6 found in the Cayenne S as opposed to the naturally-aspirated V8 of before, the new GTS has access to some 440hp and 600Nm to achieve a century sprint time of 5.2 seconds and top speed of 262kph.
Top of the pile, the Cayenne Turbo sports a 4.8-litre bi-turbo V8 that generates 520hp and 750Nm. This lets the Turbo accelerate from zero to 100 kph in just 4.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 279kph. Fuel consumption is 11.2 to 11.5 l/100 km (261-267 g/km CO2). Both the GTS and Turbo are offered with the optional Sport Chrono package that help shave an additional tenth of a second off their respective 0-100kph times.
All variants of the new Cayenne come standard with a four-year manufacturer-backed warranty and free maintenance.
