Owners gather to celebrate 10th anniversary of the Perodua Myvi
It was the Perodua Myvi’s 10th anniversary last weekend, and some 2,613 owners helped mark the occasion congregating in Setia Alam as part of a specially-held Myvi Gathering organized by Perodua. The event was certified by the Malaysian Book of Records as the biggest car gathering in Malaysian history.
Including families and friends brought along by participants, the gathering drew a crowd of approximately 5,000 people. Each participant went home with an exclusive gift pack worth RM400. A carnival atmosphere was created with various fun and games activities including hot air balloon rides, fireworks, and an outdoor movie show.
At the event, Perodua also launched a special 10th Anniversary Commemorative Edition of the Myvi that will be limited to only twelve units – 10 to be sold to the public at RM62,227, one to be won from an ongoing SMS contest for customers who buy or service their Perodua vehicles at an authorised outlet, and one already belonging to En Syed Mohamad Izzuddin Syed Ahmad Termizi who won the car from a lucky draw at the event itself.
Mechanically, the Commemorative Edition is based on the 1.5-litre automatic version of the Myvi with its exterior decorated with elements from the GearUp bodykit, sporty graphics, and carbon fibre (no, not panels) stickers for a ‘bolder look’. Inside, the cabin is finished in red and black contrast trim.
Also introduced at the event are official GearUp accessories available in packages ranging from RM2,900 to RM3,300 at all authorised Perodua outlets.
“We are happy yet humbled that the Malaysian public has responded so well to the Myvi and today’s event is to recognise and celebrate that support with all of you here in an atmosphere of festive solidarity,” Perodua President & CEO, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said.
“We are also in the midst of setting up a new customer appreciation programme which offers a huge range of benefits and is open to all car owners. These include free breakdown & emergency services, deals on Perodua sales and service offerings, fun activities and many more,” he added.
