For a company like Isuzu which only has the D-Max to offer private buyers, this presents a challenge for its marketing team continuously create initiatives to stir interest for the brand.

Since the current-generation D-Max was launched in 2013, we’ve seen a staggered roll out of its variants with the utilitarian single cab and 3.0-litre models following at later stages. In between were a number of decked-up special editions all conceptualized with the express purpose of sustaining market interest in the product.

The latest special edition D-Max comes in the form of the D-Max Diablo, available in both 2.5- and 3.0-litre displacements, but exclusively with automatic transmission and 4×4. As with the regular D-Max, the 2.5-litre model is locally-assembled whilst the 3.0-litre is fully-imported from Thailand. Accessories of the package, other than its factory-fitted daytime running lights, are installed at PDI level.

The chromed Isuzu logo on the front grille and silver front bumper guard contrasts the overall dark finishing.
