Malaysian Motorcycle Time Attack (MOTACK 2015) opening round this Sunday

The Malaysian Motorcycle Time Attack (MOTACK), an annual gymkhana series for motorcycles organized since 2012 by HIT Communications, kicks off this coming weekend with the first of five proposed rounds for its 2015 season.

Open to riders of all levels, MOTACK events are held at closed circuits and generally do not require going beyond first or second gears. Much like GRA for cars, MOTACK requires riders to maneuver their bikes through a cone-marked obstacle course, with the objective of achieving the shortest time. Accidents do happen, but because speeds are low, injuries and motorcycle (beyond the odd scrape) are rare.

The objective of the MOTACK series is to address the limited number of low budget grassroot competition events for motorcycle enthusiasts. It seeks to create an affordable, safe, and attractive platform to take motorcycle racing off the road and into a healthy competition arena.

The planned calendar sees one event each to be held for the Central, East Coast, Northern, and Southern regions of Peninsular Malaysia before concluding with the Grand Finale round to be held in the Federal Territory. The first round, dedicated for Central region, takes place this Sunday at Citta Mall, Ara Damansara. All enthusiasts are welcomed to witness the spectacle.
