Ford Fiesta ST opens for bookings
The performance flagship of the Ford Fiesta range is set to arrive in Malaysia, with Ford officially announcing the start of order taking for the three-door Fiesta ST this weekend.
Powered by the Kuga’s 1.6-litre 180hp/240Nm EcoBoost turbo engine, but pushing a much lighter sub-1,200kg frame, the Fiesta ST is capable of achieving the 0-100kph sprint in 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 220kph.
The ST is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard; and to cope with its additional performance over regular versions of the Fiesta, the car comes fitted with uprated suspension, steering, and brakes, the latter notably with rear drums replaced with solid discs.
On the amenities front, the ST maintains the same spirit of generosity as seen in the regular Fiesta models by offering smart keyless entry, projector headlamps, six airabgs, stability control, Thatcham alarm, and Ford SYNC with Bluetooth and Voice Command. Emphasizing its sporty nature are Recaro semi-bucket front seats, alloy pedals, and illuminating ST scuff plates.
Set to arrive at Ford showrooms nationwide soon, the Fiesta ST is available in three colours – Molten Orange, Spirit Blue, and Panther Black. On-the-road price with insurance is set at RM149,888. Members of the public can have a close look at the vehicle and to take it for a brief spin around the streets of Putrajaya at the ‘Fiesta ST Xperience’ held in conjunction with the 5th Asia Klasika event from today to 2 November at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Resort.
