Proton Design Competition 2014 calling for entries
Malaysians aged between 13 and 25 are invited to participate in the Proton Design Competition 2014 taking place from 24 June to 4 August this year. Prizes on offer include cash rewards, MacBook computer pre-loaded with design software, and internship at Proton’s R&D Creative Design Centre.
The competition calls for submission of car designs with the theme #ProtonCityCar2020 and it is open only to Malaysians with valid Malaysian identity cards. Entries will be split to two categories – Category 1 for 13 to 17-year-olds and Category 2 for 18 to 25-year-olds. Entries are on individual basis only, group entries are not accepted.
Participants of both categories are required to prepare design sketches of the vehicle’s exterior outlook on an A3 sheet showing its front 3/4, side, and rear views. The elder participants of Category 2 are additionally required to include an extra sketch showing the car’s interior.
On top of the sketches, participants are also required to provide a vehicle design brief on an A4 sheet detailing the design title, vehicle concept, USP, and proposed powertrain. Each participant is allowed a maximum of three entries either by mail or online submission at the competition’s official website (to be activated tomorrow). Entry forms are available online and at selected Proton outlets nationwide.
