Toyota Camry 2.0G X – More Details
After announcing its availability for bookings a couple of weeks back, UMW Toyota Motor has followed up with the dissemination of additional information pertaining its new Camry 2.0G X variant that is being positioned in between the existing 2.0G and 2.5V variants.
It retains the mechanical make-up of the existing 2.0-litre models, with the tried and trusted 1AZ four-cylinder engine once again teaming up with a 4-speed automatic transmission. As usual with Toyota, the engine is rated conservatively at 146hp and 190Nm.
The X suffix to the new variant’s nomenclature stands for ‘Exquisite Luxury’, and it can be differentiated externally from regular variants of the Camry by exclusive styling touches such as the smoked lamp clusters and darkened version of the 17-inch alloy wheels featured in the 2.5V model. Toyota’s official short hand designation for this variant is the Camry X.
Inside, the Camry X is trimmed with unique dark brown leather upholstery that is locally-sourced by UMW Toyota. Dark wood dashboard trim finishing complements the new seat colour and its exclusive front carpet mats are emblazoned with the ‘Camry X’ emblem. Completing the new variant’s claim to luxury are side and powered sunshades for the rear passengers taken from the Camry 2.5V.
The audio-visual system with rear view camera has been upgraded with the addition of guidance lines on the display to assist the driver to position the car when parking. This upgrade is also applied to other variants in the Camry range. In addition, the system also features a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, DVD player, USB and SD ports, GPS navigation system and a Smartphone Link compatible with selected mobile phones.
Priced at RM159,900 with insurance, the new Camry 2.0G X can be further customized optional accessories such as a custom-designed aerokit (5 pieces) and Toyota Premium Security & Solar Film. As with other Toyota models, the Camry 2.0G X comes with a 3-year/100,000 km warranty.
