Mitsubishi ASX CKD open for booking
The earlier-announced CKD project of the Mitsubishi ASX is progressing right on schedule with the new variants officially open for booking ahead of its official line-off ceremony slated to take place later this month. As usual with vehicles switching over from CBU to local assembly, the new ASX will come with a lower price tag than before, with a new 4WD variant being a notable addition to the line-up.
Propulsion is supplied by the tried and tested combination of Mitsubishi’s 2.0-litre 4B11 MIVEC powerplant mated to the INVECS-III CVT with Sports Mode manual shifting through six virtual ratios; the 4WD variants get paddle shifters. Outputs are unchanged at 148hp and 197Nm.
Equipment levels standard to both variants include automatic headlights and wipers, leather seats, satellite navigation, all-round parking sensors, reverse camera, auto climate control, dual airbags, ABS, and EBD. The 4WD variant adds a panoramic roof, push start button (no mention of keyless entry accompanying this) security window film, Hill Start Assist, traction control, and stability control.
Prices of the new 2014 ASX CKD start from RM114,269.50 for the 2WD and RM128,879.50 for the 4WD variant on-the-road without insurance. Available colours are Black Mica, Titanium Grey, Cool Silver and Solid White. Warranty period is five years with no mileage limitation.
