Limited-run Proton Prevé LE launched

In our discussions with Proton’s engineers following the recent launch of the Suprima S, one of the things promised to us was that certain enhancements and improvements seen in the Suprima will gradually be reverse engineered into the Prevé as running changes to the earlier-launched sedan model.

Perhaps the most notable improvement in a sea of minor enhancements on the Suprima over the Prevé is the addition of side curtain airbags bringing the total number to six in the Suprima as opposed to four in the Prevé CFE and two in the Prevé IAFM. The six airbag package has now been incorporated into the Prevé, albeit for only 100 units in the limited-edition Prevé LE launched just yesterday.

Based on the range-topping Prevé CFE, the new Prevé LE is fitted with an all-round bodykit, 17″ alloy rims with 215/45 R17 tyres, and leather seats. It is available exclusively in only one colour – Solid White – and priced at RM79,688 with insurance in Peninsula Malaysia.

The regular Prevé, meanwhile, now has the addition of a new colour in its catalog. Dubbed Soft Lilac, the new colour is targeted largely at female buyers and is available immediately.

“Since the launch of the Proton Prevé last year, Malaysians have seen for themselves the kind of commitment we have made towards improving the overall quality of our cars, as we remain steadfast to our philosophy of offering Malaysians products with quality and high level of safety, yet is value-for money,” said Dato’ Lukman Ibrahim, Deputy CEO of Proton.

Dato’ Lukman unveiled the Prevé LE and the new Soft Lilac colour of the regular Prevé yesterday at the Proton Edar Chan Sow Lin showroom at Sungai Besi whilst launching a new public contest called ‘Pandu & Menang’, which offers one unit of the Prevé LE as its grand prize. The contest, which will end on 17 December 2013, also offers daily and weekly prizes such as a 42″ LED TV, electrical gadgets, and cash prizes worth over RM400,000.

Malaysians and Permanent Residents of the country with a valid IC or passport and drivers license are eligible to participate in the ‘Pandu & Menang’ contest. To enter, simply head over to a Proton Showroom to test drive any Proton model and fill in the test drive form. The contest is divided into two areas – one is via SMS, where participants will need to answer two questions correctly and respond in the fastest time to win the Daily Prizes.

The other portion of the contest invites participants to take a creative picture with the test drive Proton car and upload it on Facebook to win the Weekly Prizes. However, only the SMS contest participants who places a booking and registers his or her car within the contest period will be eligible to win the Grand Prize of the Prevé LE.
