New Ford Fiesta 1.5 to launch at hitz.fm Birthday Invasion
Party-goers attending the hitz.fm Birthday Invasion LIVE Concert to be held on the evening Saturday, 28 September at Taylor’s Lakeside Campus in Subang Jaya will be amongst the first Malaysians to get up close with the new Ford Fiesta as part of a collaboration between Ford and the English radio station.
Admission to the general area of the concert is free for all, but there are exclusive VIP passes to be won through various online and call-in contests organized by both Ford and hitz.fm.
Wearing the new signature trapezoidal front grille that is set to define a whole new generation of Ford vehicles, the new Fiesta will comprehensively equipped with features such as push-button start, Ford SYNC, Electronic Stability Programme, Hill Launch Assist, smart regenerative charging and Ford EcoMode.
As per the outgoing model, there will be a choice of four-door sedan and five-door hatchback bodystyles, but the engine catalogue is completely revamped. The existing 1.4 and 1.6-litre four-cylinder mills are being dropped, with the new Fiesta set to launch first with a 110hp/140Nm 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine followed by the award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost three-cylinder power plant at a later stage.
Unlike the current model’s no-frills specification for the 1.4 variant, the new Fiesta 1.5 comes fully loaded with the above-mentioned features, and its pricing will therefore be closer to the 1.6 Ti-VCT model instead, being estimated at RM88,000 with insurance, according to Mr Lee Eu San, Managing Director of Sime Darby Auto Connexion, the official distributor of Ford in Malaysia.
