Boon Siew Honda launches all-new Wave 110 motorcycle
Following the success of the Honda Wave 100 that sold 274,000 units since its launch in 2006, Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd has launched the all-new Honda Wave 110 claiming higher standards of power and efficiency for its riders.
Speaking at the launch, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Boon Siew Honda, Satoshi Okada said, “Since its first introduction, the Wave has remained popular among Malaysians for its practicality, efficient fuel consumption and dynamic performance. The key to our success is our level of customer satisfaction. At Boon Siew Honda, we always provide customers with the joy and satisfaction of global quality.”
“The launch of the All-New Wave 110 attests to our continuous efforts to enhance our products. With the All-New Wave 110, we have raised the bar in innovation and advanced technology in a bike. The All-New Wave 110 is an ideal fit for everyone who expects more from a bike. It comes with improved engine, advanced safety features, and a more rugged and modern look,” Okada continued
Powering the all-new Wave 110 is a 110cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine producing 7.56hp @ 7,500rpm and 8.32Nm @ 3,500rpm. The engine complies to Euro II emission standards and boasts improved fuel consumption over the previous generation Wave 100 model. Tested in ECE 40 mode, the Wave 110 returns an official fuel consumption figure of 52.5 km/l, up from its predecessor’s 49.4 km/l.
The all-new Wave is available in two variants, with the more expensive DX variant given a front disc brake. The cheaper S model makes do with drum brakes front and rear partly due to reasons of cost, and it was also reasoned to us that the S variant is likely to see harsher usage in villages and estates, and in such conditions, the drum brake’s enclosed nature is less vulnerable to dust, dirt, and other deposits.
Prices for the all-new Wave 110 start at RM3,898 for the Wave S110 available in Pearl Magellanic Black, Euphoria Red Metallic and Vital Blue Metallic. The Wave DX110 variant, meanwhile, goes for RM4,498 and is available in Pearl Magellanic Black, Euphoria Red Metallic and Coral Orange Metallic colours. Both variants come with 1 year
comprehensive single rider insurance and a warranty period of 2 years or 20,000km.
