Demo rides of Mitsubishi i-MiEV in Petrosains KLCC

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has launched its e-Heroes programme organized in partnership with Petrosains Sdn Bhd today. Under the programme, MMM has provided a unit of the i-MiEV electric vehicle to be made available for test rides by children visiting Petrosains Discovery Centre at Suria KLCC.

The programme officially started on 8 August, and will continue till 28 October 2012. Its objective is to promote the awareness of electric vehicles and its eco-friendly benefits to children at a young age. In addition to the demo ride, children can also take part in activities such as colouring, origami, photo booth, interactive displays, mini science shows, and workshops at selected hours.

Last year, MMM was the first to register a fully electric vehicle for use on Malaysian roads, although Edaran Tan Chong Motor has since taken the EV limelight with its aggressive promotional campaigns of the Nissan Leaf. The two i-MiEV demo cars under MMM’s custody has nevertheless traveled extensively, and it is likely that the company has long term plans for the eventual introduction of electric vehicles in the country, whether it’s the i-MiEV or some future model.
