Perodua opens new disabled-friendly showroom

by -

Perodua has taken customer service to a new level, opening its first disabled-friendly showroom at Taman Wahyu Jaya, Kuala Lumpur. The new outlet is operated by Faresh Motor (M) Sdn Bhd, and its facilities are designed with the wheelchair-bound crowd in mind – wheelchair access ramp, disabled-friendly washroom and prayer room.

“The facilities offered here will be the benchmark for all existing Perodua sales showrooms and service outlets nationwide,” Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh, Perodua Managing Director said at the launch.

The concept of this showroom was the brainchild of Faresh Motor’s Managing Director Ahmad Faresh Ahmad Zahid, who said that, “Generally, the disabled who wish to purchase a vehicle will be facing difficulties to view the vehicles in the showroom and only prefer to view from outside of the showroom.”

Ahmad Faresh is especially aware of the needs and difficulties of disabled people as he is himself disabled. He added that, “Based on my observation, there are limited facilities for this group and I will try to provide one for them.”

Faresh Motor’s opening brings the total of Perodua sales outlets in the country to 183, and the company aims to have 192 outlets by the end of the year. At the launch function, Perodua also contributed a unit of the Alza to the Baitur Rahah Foundation, whilst the major shareholder of Faresh Motor, Kini Unggul Sdn Bhd, contributed RM10,000 to the Association of the Disabled People Malaysia (POCAM).
