Lotus confirms sacking of Dany Bahar
Group Lotus plc has officially announced the termination of Mr Dany Bahar’s services as the company’s Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. This news comes on the back of an announcement dated 28 May 2012 stating that Bahar was being suspended to investigate complaints of his conduct.
It would appear then, that investigations have yielded unfortunate findings for Mr Bahar, with Lotus appointing Mr Aslam Farikullah as its Chief Operating Officer, also with immediate effect. An Engineering graduate from England’s University of Bath, Aslam’s CV boasts 26 years of working experience, most of it in the automotive industry.
Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Khamil Jamil, Group Managing Director of DRB-HICOM Berhad and also Chairman of Lotus said: “I would like to assure you that we remain committed to ensure the ongoing and future business operations of the Lotus Group as we take the Lotus Group to the next level to remain relevant in the global automotive industry. I look forward to bringing mutual benefits to not only DRB-HICOM and Proton Holdings Berhad but also the Lotus Group and its employees as well as contribute to the growth of the British automotive industry.”
