Proton has announced a two month programme starting from 29 Dec until 29 Feb 2012 to aid the owners of flood-damaged Proton cars, helping them get their vehicles back to shape.

The ‘Proton I-Care Prihatin Banjir’ programme offers free inspection and assessment of the damages, free towing within a 5km radius of selected Proton authorised service centres and a 20% discount on the purchase of Proton Genuine Parts.

“We understand how difficult it can be for people who are affected in flood-prone areas. Year after year they face the same problems and damages to their property and belonging, which may include their Proton cars. For most families, it can be one of the biggest spending of their household,” said En. Ahmad Suhaimi Mohamad Anuar, Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar Sdn. Bhd.

“We also understand the unexpected stress on our customers whose cars are caught and damaged by flash flood. Previously, flood was a common occurrence in the East Coast but nowadays it happens all over the country, even in KL, when you least expected it. With this programme and customer care being our top priority, we hope to do our part in helping to relieve the burden of our valued customers,” he added.

As part of the programme, Proton is organizing a series of road shows at several locations where Proton technicians will be present to share tips on handling flood-hit vehicles and perform free 18-point safety checks. Free installation of rear seat belts are also performed at the road shows, last chance to do so before the Government’s deadline of 31 Dec 2011.

Thus far, Proton has organized these road shows on 23 – 24 Dec 2011 at the Kompleks Perniagaan Saidina Ali in Kok Lanas, Kelantan and at the SCH Service Center in Kangar, Perlis on 24 – 25 Dec 2011. Upcoming road shows are being scheduled at the Petronas station at Jalan Johor, Pontian on 30 Dec and Pekan Kerayong, Bera, Pahang on 30 – 31 Dec. Further road shows will be announced in due course.
