Strong buyer response to Honda CR-Z
Malaysian motorists have taken the all-new Honda CR-Z to heart, and that sentiment is reflected in the figures with 300 names already collected in Honda Malaysia’s order books. The company had targeted to sell only 100 units before the year ends.
Mr. Yoichiro Ueno, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia commented, “Honda Malaysia is very pleased and encouraged by the overwhelming response for the All- New CR-Z. We believe that the world’s first 6-speed manual transmission hybrid vehicle has broken new grounds in the automotive choices for Malaysians. In our commitment to exceed customers’ expectations, we are pleased to announce that Honda Malaysia will be bringing in three more exciting new colours to add to the CR-Z lineup and to give Honda customers more options.”
The three new colours mentioned are Storm Silver Metallic, Milano Red, and Crystal Black Pearl. They are scheduled to arrive by early 2012 joining the existing Premium White Pearl colour. At a media test drive organized in Japan recently in conjunction with the Tokyo Motor Show, our editor YS also learned of plans in place for the CVT variant to arrive.
Currently, however, the only option available for CR-Z buyers is the 6-speed manual variant priced at RM115,000 with insurance. In addition to the standard factory warranty, Honda is also putting a 5-year / 140,000km battery warranty.
