Truck and bus maker Scania has launched a mobile workshop based in Kuching capable of offering a full spectrum of maintenance facilities for its line-up of commercial vehicles. Based on a Scania P 270 truck, it has gear to match a full fledged Scania workshop, being equipped with special tools, work bench, air compressor, waste oil disposal, full tool box, hoists, and lifting equipment.

“Scania has always put after-sales service support as a priority for our customers. The new Scania Mobile Workshop underlines the importance Scania places on the Sarawak market and how we are using innovative practices in ensuring top quality service and support for our customers even in the most remote and challenging locations,” said Idros Puteh, General Manager of Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

The Mobile Workshop is stocked with a comprehensive set of Scania parts, and each on is manned by two skilled mechanics able to provide a full range of services. Once an appointment is scheduled, the Mobile Workshop will set themselves up at the customers location to perform routine service and even minor repairs. The work shop also functions as a 24/7 Scania Assistance breakdown support unit.

“With this mobile workshop unit, we bring to you a new level of standards in preventive maintenance which is always key in ensuring maximum uptime and optimum fuel economy, thus preserving our environment and most importantly, enhancing road safety in Sarawak” added Idros.
