Nissan Treasure Hunt organized for Northern customers
Since its inception in the 1990s, the Nissan Treasure Hunt organized by Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) has been a popular Customer Relations Management (CRM) programme amongst Nissan owners. The ongoing success of the programme has emboldened ETCM to extend the reach of this hunt beyond the Klang Valley.
There were three separate hunts organized this year from July to September, one in the Central region, one for Southern customers in Johor, and the most recent one for Northern customers in Penang. Taking place on 10 September 2011, the Northern edition attracted the participation of 32 teams, who were flagged off in the morning from the Nissan 3S centre at Butterworth.
Participants were taken around Butterworth town answering various questions posed to them by the huntmasters. One of the mandatory stops made by the participants was the Rumah Sejahtera Permatang Tinggi, where ‘treasures’ in the form of food and various daily essentials were delivered.
The second half of the hunt took place on the island, and one of the challenges presented to participants was to identify the differences between the Teana 200 XE and 250 XV parked at the Nissan 3S centre in Bayan Lepas. Final stop of the day was Hard Rock Hotel, Batu Ferringhi, where there was one last mission to assemble a giant jigsaw puzzle.
Speaking during the prize presentation at Hard Rock Hotel, Dato’ Dr Ang Bon Beng, Executive Director of ETCM said, “The Nissan Treasure hunt is our CRM initiative, the successes we have enjoyed throughout the years are due to the number of loyal customers we have, and this is one of our ways of showing our appreciation for them.”
The winning team was Paradigm Runners followed by Jolly Rogers and Parrot who were first and second runners up respectively. The winners weren’t the only ones who walked home with prizes. There were numerous rounds of lucky draws being held throughout the high tea. So, everyone stood a chance of taking something home.
