At the upcoming Frankfurt International Motor Show, Peugeot will bolster its new flagship 508 range with the 508 RXH, a raised crossover wagon variant of the 508 featuring diesel-hybrid propulsion and all-wheel drive. Set to be the 508 family’s range-topper, the RXH benefits from additional cosmetic touches and equipment over its regular cousins.

Powered by the same HYbrid4 system that is also available on the 3008, the 508 RXH has access to some 200hp and 450Nm at full bore, and is at the same time capable of CO2 emissions of 109 g/km. Fuel consumption is rated at 4.2 l/100km, and there is a ZEV 100% electric drive mode available for operation.

We inspected the standard 508 upclose during its world debut in Paris, and observed almost Audi-rivaling build quality. Here, the 508 RXH takes the Ingolstadt reference a step further with styling that very much reminds us of Allroad variants of the A4 and A6.

The front fascia of the 508 RXH is characterized by its three vertical LED strips that serve as daytime running lights. According to Peugeot, this styling touch is meant to evoke images of lion claws flanking the 508’s floating grille.

Inside, the 508 RXH comes with a wide array of standard equipment Open & Go system, electric front seats, head up display, 18″ wheels, panoramic glass roof, dark-tinted acoustic laminated side windows, latest generation audio and satellite navigation unit

After its Frankfurt premiere in September, the 508 RXH is expected to hit the showrooms in Spring 2012.
