Continental releases HSU 1 steering-axle tyre

Continental Sime Tyre has just launched the new HSU 1 steering-axle tyre catered for big trucks with extensive city usage. Compared to those that ply long distance routes, trucks that service city routes have markedly different tyre requirements, as they have to deal with greater degrees of changes in speed and direction, not to mention more sudden and forceful braking. These factors were all taken into consideration when designing the HSU 1.

Specifically built for city driving, the HSU 1 is an all-year tyre, capable of service in conditions varying from dry and hot at one end, to wet and slippery at the other. A strong emphasis was placed on the handling characteristics of the tyre, allowing it to cope better with constant directional changes need with urban service. Comfort and low noise levels were also amongst the tyre’s design goals, and its sidewalls are reinforced with wear resistant rubber compounds to improve durability against kerbing.

Meanwhile, on the passenger car tyre front, Continental’s ContiSportContact3 (CSC3) has been named as the best summer tyre in the 2011 Auto Express Product Awards. Continental’s ContiWinterContact TS830 was also highly rated in the winter tyre category.
