Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd today introduced the Honda Wave Dash, a new sporty entry to the 110 – 115cc kapchai market segment. The new motorcycle is the second product in Honda’s “All Mode Might Series”, and is based on the existing Wave 100 and 110 models.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Boon Siew Honda, Satoshi Okada said, “The mid size cub market is expected to increase drastically as more new models enter the market, providing more choices to riders. The competitively lower prices of the bikes in this segment are now accompanied by sleek exterior designs and enhanced features. This aptly describes the new Honda Wave Dash as we seek to enhance the joy of riding for our customers”.

With the Wave Dash joining the Wave 110 in the line-up, Boon Siew Honda hopes to capture 50% of the 110 – 115cc market segment for 2011. In 2010, the said segment had a market size of 110,000 units.

Powering the Honda Wave Dash is a 109.1cc 4-stroke engine cranked either by a kick starter (RS Model) or electric starter (RSR Model). At 7,500rpm, the engine simultaneously produces its maximum output of 8.34hp and maximum torque of 8.59Nm. Channeling drive to the rear wheel is a 4-speed transmission.

The exhaust system features a Sporty Exhaust Silencer and covered with Heat Protection. These two features ensure that the bike is not only silent, but also keeps its pillion rider protected from the searing hot exhaust pipe – thoughtful! Aluminium rear foot rests are placed on both sides of the body for added rear passenger comfort.

The two variants of the Honda Wave Dash, RS and RSR, carry recommended road prices of RM4,998 and RM5,268 respectively. The figure includes 1 year comprehensive single-rider insurance.
