BANGKOK, Thailand, 10 March, 2011 – Ford Motor Company is pulling out all the stops to make the 32nd Bangkok International Motor Show its most impressive and interactive show ever in Southeast Asia, and on-par with the Company’s presence at some of the global auto industry’s biggest and most well-established events.
The centerpiece of the Show for Ford is the ASEAN unveiling of its All-New Ford Ranger pickup, which is the first truck developed under the company’s One Ford strategy. Thailand will serve as one of three global hubs to manufacture and export the next-generation Ranger for more than 180 markets worldwide, with production starting later this year.
“The ASEAN region, with Thailand as our production hub, is a key opportunity within our Asia Pacific and Africa growth strategy, so leveraging the Bangkok Show for the ASEAN unveil of our global All-New Ford Ranger is a natural thing to do,” said Peter Fleet, Ford ASEAN President.
“We have mobilised our global resources, partners and personnel for this Show, clearly underscoring both the significance of the flagship Ranger to our business, and the central role that Thailand will continue to play in its ongoing success,” Fleet added.
The Ford stand will include an array of interactive displays and entertainment – also appearing in ASEAN for the first time – that are designed to engage the expected 1.5 million Bangkok Show attendees, while highlighting a number of the Company’s smart new technologies and respective vehicle features.
A robot presenter, a 3D mini-theatre, a driving simulator for the all-new Ranger, a virtual Driving Skills for Life safe-driving video game, and a personal interactive towing challenge, are just some of the dazzling exhibits and features that Ford expects will draw a continuous crowd to its stand.
“The Ford stand will reflect our global auto show presence and the strategy we roll out across some of the industry’s biggest events,” said Saroj Kitafeungfoo, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford Thailand. “This includes a number of our global assets – high-tech and interactive displays and games that have been incredibly popular at Shows from Detroit to Shanghai to Geneva.”
“These global assets bring Ford’s quality, green, safe, and smart technologies to life in a fun and dynamic way, and we’re sure they will be among the most-talked-about attractions of the Bangkok Show,” added Saroj.
Visitors to the Ford stand will get a ‘Passport’, which will be stamped after they experience each exhibit and display. Those completing all stamps on their Passport will be eligible to win a number of exciting prizes from Ford.
In addition to the new Ranger, the Ford stand will feature a full lineup of the hot-selling Ford Fiesta; a new, special-equipped Ford Focus; an upgraded Ford Everest SUV and Ford Ranger WildTrak edition.
The 32nd Bangkok International Motor Show runs from March 25 to April 4 at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani.
