Two awards for BMW at Chicago Athenaeum’s “2010 GOOD DESIGN™ Award.”

The BMW Group picked up two design awards at the recent Chicago Athenaeum’s ‘2010 Good Design Award’, for the BMW Concept 6 Series and the BMW S 1000 RR superbike.

Founded in Chicago in 1950, the award serves to recognize the work of designers and manufacturers who create outstanding innovative and visionary products.

“In the 2010 year of competition, the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design received a record number of entries from all around the world for the award. In November, the jury met in New York and selected over 500 product designs and graphics from over 36 nations as potential candidates for the GOOD DESIGN Award. The BMW Group is pleased to have the BMW S 1000 RR superbike and the BMW Concept 6 Series shortlisted and eventually winning the award in their respective categories.” said Geoffrey Briscoe, Managing Director, BMW Group Malaysia.

The Chicago Athenaeum museum will be exhibiting the winning products at the annual GOOD DESIGN SHOW in Chicago in June this year. More on the awards and its winners can also be found at the museum’s website at www.chi-athenaeum.org.
