Honda Insight at RM98,000
Kuala Lumpur, 2 December 2010 – Today is a day for rejoicing for eco-friendly and eco- conscious drivers in Malaysia – following the government’s extension of concessions for hybrid vehicles until the end of next year, Honda Malaysia announced the very attractive retail price of the new Honda Insight Hybrid vehicle at RM98,000, (price on-the-road with insurance).
This in effect brings the Honda Insight hybrid to within relatively easy reach of the general motoring public in Malaysia. The media who were at the launch which happened on the Media Day of the Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow were abuzz with positive comments about the price of the Honda Insight.
Equipped with a 1.3 litre i-Vtec engine and IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) hybrid system, the Honda Insight is fully imported from Japan, and should find a home in many Malaysian garages. Power is transferred to the road through a CVT and 16-inch tyres. Combined with the IMA, the Honda Insight can provide power equivalent to that of a 1.6 litre engine, when push comes to shove.
Driven carefully, the Insight is capable of up to30 kilometres per litre or more.
