BMW’s presence in the northern states of Peninsula Malaysia has just been reinforced with the opening of the Tian Siang Premium Auto BMW dealership in Juru Autocity, Prai. Situated in the mainland half of Penang state, Tian Siang is poised to bring BMW sales and service closer to customers residing in the north of Peninsula Malaysia.

Geoffrey Briscoe, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia said, “Our dealership network is a critical conduit to our business here in Malaysia and it has always been our top priority to ensure that only the best professionals are engaged in becoming BMW dealers. Tian Siang Premium Auto fits these criteria perfectly as they are no strangers to the Premium segment automotive industry, having established themselves as our representative in the state of Perak. With their presence here in Prai, it is definitely a valued addition to the BMW dealership network here in Malaysia.”

Compliant to BMW Group’s international showroom standards, Tian Siang Premium Auto’s premises houses a sales office, customer lounge and a car display area able to take up to 12 cars at any one time. The attached service workshop has two fully equipped BMW Fast Lane Service bays for vehicle maintenance.

Mr. Tan Ka Kin, Dealer Principal of Tian Siang Premium Auto said, “Together with our BMW 4S centre in Ipoh, the launch of Tian Siang Premium Auto Prai today marks the strengthening of a partnership that has taken us into a new era of mutual profitability and highlights our commitment towards being a leading distributor in the premium automotive segment.”

“Moving forward, we expect to see up to a 30% market growth of BMW sales in the area over the next year and our priority will be to ensure that as more and more customers seek cars in the premium segment, our ability to consistently provide premium quality services to meet their needs will also grow accordingly,” said Tan.

Come mid-2011, Tian Siang is set to open an all-new BMW 4S dealership in Prai. The group will further expand operations at their home base in Perak with a new BMW Body & Paint facility scheduled for opening on 1 October 2010.

Commenting on the importance of northern customers to BMW Group Malaysia, MD Geoffrey Briscoe said, “The Northern Corridor of Malaysia contributes up 20% of the total luxury vehicle segment market share in the country. This is a very significant number and moving forward, BMW Group Malaysia is confident of growing our business in the area to between 800-1000 more cars annually.”

This year has been a busy one for the folks at BMW Group Malaysia, having already launched the all-new X1 and 5 Series in addition to the facelifted X5. As of August 2010, the company saw a 7.1% year-on-year increase in sales, with 2,893 BMW, Mini, and Motorrad vehicles sold thus far, compared to 2,635 in the corresponding period of 2009.

“With Penang as well as the Northern Corridor region continuing to grow as a vibrant market for BMW, it is our wish to ensure that BMW customers here in Malaysia continue to get nothing but the very best experiences of owning a BMW, very much like the same if they were in Munich, Melbourne or right here in Prai” said Briscoe.

The new Tian Siang Premium Auto BMW centre is located at Lot 1684, Jalan Perusahaan, Highway Auto City, North South Highway, Juru Interchange, 13600 Prai, Pulau Pinang.
