In 1980, BMW launched the R80G/S motorcycle, which produced 21,864 bikes over a seven-year production run. Combining on and off-road ability into one package, the R80G/S eventually spawned the BMW GS family of motorcycles which went past the half-million production mark in 2009.

This marks the 30th year of the GS nameplate’s birth, and BMW is celebrating the occasion with a quartet of “30 Years of GS” special edition motorcycles. The bikes are offered with very distinct cosmetic upgrades from the ‘run-of-the-mill’ models, and added options list for more personalized customization.

Prices for the four special edition BMW Motorrad models are as follows:

BMW R 1200 GS “30 Years of GS” – RM 119,000
BMW R 1200 GS Adventure “30 Years of GS” – RM 125,500
BMW F 800 GS “30 Years of GS” – RM 88,000
BMW F 650 GS “30 Years of GS” – RM 75,500

In addition to the four “30 Years of GS” special edition models, BMW Malaysia is also bringing in five units of the HP2 Sport Motorsport motorcycle. Powering the HP2 is a flat-twin DOHC engine which produces 133hp @ 8,750rpm and 115Nm @ 6,000rpm. Selling price for the five units of HP2-SM stands at RM 163,888 each.
