Bikers convoy in Klang Valley powered by Shell V-Power 97 Fuel

Kuala Lumpur, 10 July 2010 –Shell Malaysia in collaboration with the Ducati Club Malaysia, Jokers Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club and RELA Biker Club, organised a convoy today to highlight and celebrate the availability of the new Shell V-Power 97 performance fuel in the State. Designed to give motorists, improved power and performance whatever they drive, this fuel is the culmination of over 60 years of innovation and shared passion for performance with Ferrari in the motorsports arena.
The Shell convoy kick-started at the Shell Station Seapark, followed by the Shell Station New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) and concluding at the Megah Indah Shell Station covering more than 10 kilometres.
The convoy also saw the participation of Shell from around the Klang Valley. At each of the station, a Shell Carnival was organised for the public, boasting an array of activities from lucky draws, balloon giveaways, treasure hunts, colouring contests, racing simulators and Nintendo Wii Games. Marking the end of the convoy, Shell’s Men in Red team was seen at the Megah Indah Shell Station to give Shell V-Power 97 customers a quick car pampering session. In addition to this, all customers who pumped Shell V-Power 97 at any Shell station today that were conducting carnivals, received triple BonusLink reward points.
Flagging off the convoy was Mr Leslie Ng, Retail National Sales Manager, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd. “Today, we completed a journey of approximately 10 kilometres in a convoy of big bikes. The Bikes in the convoy were all fuelled with Shell V-Power 97 so it was certainly an exhilarating experience,” he said. “Contrary to popular belief, not all fuels are the same, and as our friends from the participating bikers clubs have just experienced, Shell V Power 97 does give you improved performance for your vehicle, at the regulated price of RON97 fuel.”
The Technology Behind Shell V-Power 97
The new Shell V-Power 97 features the same Friction Modification Technology (FMT) additive used by Shell for Ferrari in Formula One races. Proprietary to Shell V-Power fuels, FMT has been uniquely developed in Shell’s research laboratories and in participation with its long-term technical partner, Ferrari.
Formulated to ensure a cleaner engine in any vehicle you drive, FMT also helps engine parts work smoothly to deliver improved responsiveness. The friction reduction properties of the new Shell V-Power 97 are designed to improve acceleration by reducing friction between moving parts in the engine, thus releasing more energy of the fuel to drive the vehicle. All this, at the price of a regular RON97 petrol.
Shell V-Power 97 is now available at 750 Shell stations nationwide – replacing the regulated FuelSave 97 petrol grade at the pump. Shell V-Power Racing, the premium fuel, will continue to be sold at over 40 sites in the Klang Valley and Johor.
